SWOT ANALYSIS OF THE UNIT

Strengths

In our coordination, researchers can make their project applications completely electronically, monitor the stages of their applications through the system and make their Specialization Unit Commission renewal requests through the system

Researchers can make all their requests such as report submission, additional time, additional budget, change in expenditure item and project team within the scope of their ongoing projects electronically without having to come to the unit and submit printed documents.

Researchers are automatically informed in advance by the e-BAP System about commission decisions, upcoming report submission period, upcoming project closing date and many other issues, and possible disruptions are prevented.

Researchers can access comprehensive information about ongoing or completed projects they are involved in through the software system and download the records to their computers electronically.

Weaknesses

The lack of sufficient work on encouraging universities and other institutions to conduct more research in priority areas, preventing waste in spending public resources, directing resources to the right areas, and encouraging high value-added scientific research by ensuring cooperation between various sectors are among the weaknesses.

Opportunities

The Coordination Center for Agriculture and Livestock Specialization monitors expenditures within the framework of the procedures and principles regarding the evaluation, acceptance, support, execution, monitoring of services related to scientific research project proposals managed by academicians and researchers who have completed doctorate, medical specialization, or artistic competency education in higher education institutions, and the evaluation of results and announcement to the public.

The shortcomings and weaknesses encountered in the implementation of the principles for each year are also discussed and the necessary arrangements are made to create a better functioning and control mechanism. Activities are carried out to increase and encourage the productivity of our university's researchers.

Other opportunities include having sufficient technological equipment, making the most effective use of technology, and being able to achieve results by accelerating access via the internet.

Threats

Today, the Coordination Center for Agriculture and Livestock Specialization should not only operate as a secretariat unit where spending transactions of projects decided to be supported are carried out, but their fields of activity should be redefined, being aware that these units are of vital importance in the development of universities.

For the Efficient and Effective Use of Resources Allocated for Specialization Projects in Higher Education Institutions; Regulations and improvements should be made in the legal status, administrative and academic processes, Budget and Accounting Application, Spending processes and Externally Funded Projects of BAP Units. Some other threats are as follows;

- Problems experienced as a result of the slowdown of the work due to the bureaucratic procedures in internal operations due to legislation,

- Limited industry in our province, lack of university-industry cooperation.
